I feel like I got used to the art more and it didn't bother me in the slightest. I never really liked how Touka looked in the anime, but she continues to be drawn beautifully in the manga. The fight scenes still look confusing, and I really do feel like certain scenes were presented much better in the anime. (view spoiler)
This continues to be quite close to the anime, though there were more separations between them in this volume than there were in the first. Sometimes there were extra scenes in the manga that weren't in the anime, but there were also scenes that were in the anime that weren't in the manga. These were the scenes that really helped the story and to clear things up. Things that the manga could have benefited from having.
So far I don't really see what would make the manga "so much better than the anime." I guess when we get to Root A is when all the changes are going to happen.
I hate how cynical I am about this manga. It's just so weird because of how much I loved the anime, and experiencing it again in manga form is just not cutting it for some reason. I need to like chill out or something and start enjoying these more.
I kinda do want to continue reading the manga... but it might not happen anytime soon. Maybe when I have another graphic novel haul.
