My rating: 3 of 5 stars
This book was infuriating. Miri was super annoying during book 2, but she started this book off with some funny burns toward Rachel which made me think maybe she would be better in this book. Ha. No. She wasn’t.
Miri. Oh Miri Miri Miri. So dumb. And it was annoying how it seemed like she didn’t even learn anything from the last book. She’s still all about saving the world and whatnot and being a dumbass. And she talked about poofing up money to help her help people, which is extremely illogical because she knows that poofing up money means she’s stealing money from somewhere else. Way to “help” out the world you fucking idiot. For the majority of this book I reckon she was under some kind of “emotion amplifying” spell but honestly that’s no excuse since she’s still her dumbass self.

Even worse than Miri was the antagonist in this book, who was so utterly “evil” and overpowered that it was blood boiling. Lianna. Holy shit. What an evil fucking bitch. This is a tween book so maybe I shouldn’t be swearing so much, but honestly I’m against censorship and I’m mad so screw it. She was so much better than Rachel in every way, and it was so enraging having to watch Rachel get constantly schooled.
Now that I’m thinking about it, Rachel was also kind of dumb here too. Like, proper annoying dumb like how I was saying they do in OTHER series, but not this one. Good job author, you blew it. I figured out everything (view spoiler) almost instantly, and it was maddening seeing Rachel be too dumb to also figure it out. This series very much turned into a “the characters are dumb and do dumb things in order to further the plot” series, which is terrible and annoying.
And how hilarious is it that (view spoiler)
I don’t think I disliked this book or anything, it was just… Ugh. Like I said: Infuriating, because of stupid fricken Miri and evil bitch Lianna. It was otherwise fun enough. I’m still going to read the next book, the one from my childhood that started all of this.
Speaking of the next book: Some thief stole the audio book from the library from right under my nose! I was so close to signing out books 3 and 4 at the same time, but I was like “Nah, no one will sign out the last book because no one else has been signing these out so no one else should be on the last book.” Imagine my surprise when I finished reading book 3, I go to sign out book 4, and see that someone else has already beaten me to it!!! Lucky for me that’s the book I own so I don’t have to wait for the thief to finish with the audiobook. It’s still wack, and it’s going to be weird not being able to hear this series and have to read it.
