Review: Sea of Shadows

Okay first of all I want to give a shoutout to Sarah Nichole Kaufman for designing this absolutely stunningly gorgeous cover! Now on with the review!

Sea of Shadows is about our two homegirls Ashyn and Moria, also known as the Seeker and Keeper. Basically what that means is that they can hear spirits, and each of them has their own specific spirit duties. Anyway, shit goes down in downtown and then yaboom, epic journey commences.

Overall the plot is aight. I disagree with whoever said it was boring. There was always stuff going on. The only parts I could see some short attention spanned people getting bored at would be some of the dialogue scenes, but whatever.

The cover says fantasy, but at parts it was really giving me a strong horror vibe, like for real.

I found myself really liking how the characters talked. Everyone talked in this really old fashion/medieval tongue and it did a really good job at establishing the world with just that little detail. Also the dialogue had me laughing out loud a couple times so that was fun.

Anyway, I don't know. It was a decent story. I liked the characters. Yeah. Don't know if I'll be continuing with the series, it really depends on my feelings once I sleep on it for a couple months. Solid three stars: I liked it.

Review: The Art of the Adventures of Tintin

The Art of the Adventures of Tintin by Chris Guise My rating: 5 of 5 stars The Art of The Adventures of Tintin was even better than I could have ever dreamed. This is my first "Art of" book, and I kind of knew what I was getting into but I was still surprised. I didn't even mean to start reading this when I started reading this. We were given an assignment in art class to design a poster for the school play and I really had no ideas. I remembered that these "Art of" books are full of concept art so I decided to flip through this one. Well, next thing I knew I wasn't just flipping through it, I was completely engrossed in it. I flipped to the first page and started properly reading it. This book was a good reading experience. Review: Spells & Sleeping Bags

Spells & Sleeping Bags by Sarah Mlynowski My rating: 3 of 5 stars This book was infuriating. Miri was super annoying during book 2, but she started this book off with some funny burns toward Rachel which made me think maybe she would be better in this book. Ha. No. She wasn’t. Miri. Oh Miri Miri Miri. So dumb. And it was annoying how it seemed like she didn’t even learn anything from the last book. She’s still all about saving the world and whatnot and being a dumbass.
