My rating: 4 of 5 stars
I'LL give Attachments a shaky four stars. I say shaky because that end kind of ruined my vibe. It's a slippery slope.
I was weary going in to this book, cause I really haven't read very many contemporary books. I'm used to fantasy and action/adventure sci/fi books, so I was scared of this book boring me to death. Which kind of happened at the beginning. But it quickly faded and I got into the story and was entertained. The thing about the story though, is that the love interest already has a boyfriend.
For 83% of the book. (I did the math.) So basically the entire book I'm like, "No! Lincoln! Snap out of it! Love interest! Snap out of it, NOW! EVERYBODY! SNAP OUT OF IT!"
I did not like the prospect of them together one single bit! And after having finished the book, my feelings still stand.
Parts of the book I liked were the parts where we explored Lincoln's past with his first girlfriend. I really liked those stories, and they were really cute. Then they went to collage and it all went to hell. Before that though, very cute stuff. Also as everyone has said, I enjoyed the emails between Beth and Jennifer.I found them to be so straight forward and to the point, and I really liked that. There wasn't any diddle daddle with those two. The book in general made me puff air out of my nose in semi-laughter a couple times, so that was nice. I think those moments were usually during the time spend with Lincoln's family, rather than the emails.
